Wouldn’t it be great to share in the Adios purses won by two of the top contenders, Southwind Gendry and Lou’s Pearlman? Now, thanks to a unique contribution from the horses’ owners, you may win a drawing that will give you that thrill.
The Ron Burke stable and Weaver Bruscemi LLC are donating 1 percent of the earnings of those horses in Saturday’s Delvin Miller Adios Pace for the Orchids to help the Standardbred Transition Alliance (STA). Since the Adios final goes for $375,000, Southwind Gendry and Lou’s Pearlman could collect up to $281,250 with a 1-2 finish, meaning the lucky ticketholder would win more than $2,800.
The Adios raffle is the centerpiece of the Meadows Standardbred Owners Association (MSOA) benefit for the STA set for Wednesday, July 28, 6 PM – 9 PM, at The Meadows’ Parlay Lounge. The event features two ticket tracks. A $25 ticket includes appetizers, a drink and a chance to win $1,000 in a drawing. Entry to the Adios winnings drawing requires a separate $5 ticket, and the winner need not be present. Thus, a $30 donation gets you involved in both drawings.
