The Meadows Standardbred Owners Association will be sponsoring a special Spring Fever event at The Meadows Racetrack and Casino on Friday night (April 13), hoping to make it a Lucky Friday the 13th for local racing fans.
There will be a drivers meet & greet at the entrance to the casino to start the evening, with those participating giving away beads that correspond with their colors. Once in the building, patrons will be able to get a free program and $2 betting voucher on the Racebook level. Tip sheets will be provided, along with an informative guide to wagering.
There are various activities planned for all age groups, including paddock tours, winner’s circle photos with the winning driver’s autographed whip, corn hole games, a bounce house, spray tattoo and balloon artists.
However, the true stars of the night will be the horses, and two special guests will be on hand for the event. Jog cart rides will be offered to a few lucky patrons and Hambletonian champion Vivid Photo, out of the Roger Hammer Stable, will be one of the horses taking his fans for a lap around the track.
Also on hand will be the trotter Stiletto, out of the Wayne Hite Stable, who will be trackside in a special stall, greeting fans throughout the night. Stiletto is on the verge of becoming the sport’s newest million dollar winner — he is less than $2,000 away and set to race on Wednesday evening at The Meadows. Trivia questions will be asked about this veteran warhorse, with the winners receiving a Stiletto t-shirt.
A party for all will be held in the Skybox Suites and volunteers will be making their way around to offer helpful hints and information on wagering throughout the night. The MSOA and The Meadows invite all racing fans to join us for this special Spring Fever Night. Post time will be 6:55 p.m.
