The Meadows Standardbred Owners Association’s 8th Annual Pink Out for Breast Cancer Research was held on Saturday (October 22), and the event was a rousing success.

A new twist was added this year – a miniature horse race featuring Meadows reinsman Mike Wilder along with trainer Scott Betts and several other members of the community.

The non-wagering event was part of a day filled with activity at The Meadows Racetrack & Casino that helped to raise money for Washington Health System in nearby Washington, Pennsylvania.

Donations were also raised through a “pretty pony” contest, and raffles for a pink harness, donated by Silverstone Decorative Concrete, and a pink Michael Kors purse.

“This cause means a lot to several of our members,” said MSOA President Rich Gillock. “We are proud to pull together with the casino and others in the community to support breast cancer research.”
