The Meadows Standardbred Owners Association will be hosting a special “Go Blue” event this Saturday, November 19 to benefit the family of Scott Bashioum, a police officer in nearby Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, who was killed in the line of duty last week.
Meadows horsemen will gather on the racetrack by the paddock prior to the day’s first race for a moment of silence, and horses and racebikes will be decked out in blue throughout the day.
Horse owners and racing fans in attendance for Saturday’s card are invited to wear blue to show their support.
The MSOA will be taking orders for Canonsburg Police Department T-shirts, as the organization is selling shirts for $15 to benefit a memorial fund for the family.
Donations can be made to the Scott Bashioum Children’s Fund, as Washington Financial, located in Washington, PA, is accepting donations at all of their locations.
