The Meadows Standardbred Owners Association and The Meadows Racetrack and Casino are once again coming together to host a “Pink Out” event to benefit Magee Women’s Hospital (Pittsburgh) Breast Cancer Research Foundation this Wednesday (Oct. 31).

The annual event has raised tens of thousands of dollars in recent years.

Post time for racing that evening is at 6:55 p.m., but a special Ladies Race Meet & Greet will begin at 6 p.m. at the casino entrance.
The all-female drivers event is slated for the sixth race on the card, featuring drivers Rachel Kaneoka, Tabatha Canarr, Sharon Donella, Cherie Keith, Danita Harvey, Devan Miller, Leslie Zendt, Nikki Harvey and Joelene Christman.

That race, along with the all-male drivers’ seventh race on the card, will be the challenge events. The MSOA will donate its commission from the races to the Magee Foundation, and the battle will be to see which race raises more money via the mutuel windows.

The MSOA will also be collecting donations in the paddock on Wednesday evening. Others wishing to contribute can contact the MSOA office.

Horse owners are encouraged to wear your pink or a costume (no masks please) to the MSOA-sponsored party in the Bistecca Skybox Suites. There will free programs and giveaways while supplies last.
