CKG Billings Harness Driving Association seeks young drivers.  If you are 25 years old or younger, have under 50 pari-mutual wins, and have not taken professional compensation, you can join the Billings for $100 and pay no race entry fees except for the travel series races.

Pari-mutual races require an (A) or (P) license while the fairs require a Q/F.  “We are targeting drivers who are working their way to be professional drivers,” stated Tony Verruso, the organization’s President.  Current professional drivers Corey Callahan and Ronnie Wrenn Jr both started with the Billings as their first step.

The CKG Billings Racing Series features 60 races spanning most of the racetracks across the US and Canada.  It is broken down into four specific series, allowing participants to gain points and qualify for the final Gold and Silver Cup events at Yonkers Raceway in November.

The first Mid West series race is April 29th at Miami Valley followed by the East series race at Freehold on May 5th.

If you are interested, you can see the conditions and applications on the USTA web site under the ‘Racing’ (entries / results) dropdown, then amateur driving, and the Delvin Miller Harness Driving Association.  Feel free to call Tony Verruso at 917.697.8986 or Steve Oldford at 810.300.3234 for additional details.
